Discover the Next-Gen Charger’s Immense Power Here!

The next generation of the Dodge Charger kicks off late in the 2024 model year, introducing a new, multi-energy powertrain lineup! Blending the brand’s muscle car DNA with cutting-edge technology, this year’s offerings include an all-new, all-electric powertrain, delivering instantaneous torque and zero emissions while retaining the iconic Charger’s aggressive performance. For enthusiasts craving gas power, Dodge introduces a potent twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, combining impressive power with enhanced efficiency. Here at Turlock Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we’re excited about the diverse powertrain options introduced by the all-new Dodge Charger, and we’d like to take this opportunity to share their details with you!

2024 Dodge Charger Daytona

The next-generation Dodge Charger marks the introduction of the world’s first fully electric muscle car. These next-gen Charger models are built on the STLA Large platform, a highly adaptable platform designed specifically for electric vehicles (BEVs) that can support extreme power. The platform offers various suspension and powertrain setups to meet specific performance goals. The all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona models feature an all-wheel-drive system powered by a 400V propulsion setup, delivering V-8-like performance with zero emissions and immediate torque. This system includes a high-voltage battery pack, a dual integrated charge module, and both front and rear electric drive modules (EDMs). The front EDM has a disconnect feature for improved range and efficiency, while the rear EDM features a mechanical limited-slip differential for enhanced traction and performance. Each EDM has a 3-in-1 design (inverter, gearbox, motor), producing 335 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The battery pack has a capacity of 100.5 kWh with a peak discharge rate of 550 kW, optimized to provide maximum power during quarter-mile acceleration.

2025 Dodge Charger SIXPACK

Dodge has just revealed the 2025 Charger SIXPACK alongside the 2024 Charger Daytona. The SIXPACK is all about Dodge’s new Hurricane engine, which moves away from the bigger engines and opts for turbocharged power instead. Dodge knew they had to keep that V8-level performance while also aiming for better fuel efficiency. So, instead of the old gas-hungry V8s, the Charger SIXPACK now uses a six-cylinder engine with two low-inertia, twin-scroll turbochargers that push more compressed air into the engine. This lets more fuel in, which equals more power. By switching out the 5.7L and 6.4L HEMI V8 engines for a 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-six, the SIXPACK offers better fuel economy, fewer emissions, and more power. There are two versions of the new Hurricane engine. The standard output version cranks out 420 horsepower, replacing the old 375-horsepower 5.7L HEMI V8. The high-output version goes even further, delivering a thrilling 550 horsepower, taking over from the 475-horsepower 6.4L V8 in the Scat Pack. Both the Charger SIXPACK and Charger Daytona will be available in two-door and four-door models, depending on the power level. For example, the standard-output SIXPACK comes with four doors, while the high-output version is a two-door.

How Does Dodge Use Technology to Improve the Charger’s Performance?

The next-gen Charger comes with a wide range of advanced technologies to take its performance to the next level. The PowerShot feature, for example, is activated by a button on the lower right of the steering wheel and comes standard on the Charger Daytona Scat Pack and R/T models. When you punch the throttle, PowerShot gives you an extra 40 horsepower for 15 seconds—perfect for quick bursts of power when you need it! The new Charger offers more performance options than ever, especially with the Daytona Scat Pack, which includes exclusive Donut and Drift Modes. Donut Mode allows the car to spin its rear wheels and rotate around the front without traction control interference. Drift Mode lets the driver choose from three levels of slip angle, with rear-biased torque and adjusted dampers for controlled oversteer. Other features include Line Lock, which locks the front wheels to let the rear tires spin for warming up, and Launch Control, providing optimal straight-line acceleration with adjustable intensity. The Charger also introduces Dodge-exclusive Race Prep options for drag and track racing, optimizing energy output based on race needs. Additionally, Performance Pages deliver key performance data like timers, g-force readings, and system info.
