New Powertrain Options for the 2025 Ram 1500
The 2025 Ram 1500 still uses the Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine as its standard equipment, offering 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. However, the 5.7L HEMI V8 is discontinued in 2025, replaced by a more powerful three-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six engine. The V8’s power output doesn’t stack up to the power of the all-new Hurricane 6 engine, which delivers 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. However, to provide drivers with even more power, Ram offers a high-output variant of this same engine, tuned to provide 540 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. The third and final new powertrain option for the 2025 Ram 1500 is exclusive to the all-new Ramcharger, Ram’s first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Using the aforementioned V6 engine, an onboard generator, and a pair of electric motors powered by a rechargeable battery pack, the Ramcharger achieves an astonishing 663 horsepower, 615 lb-ft of torque, 14,000-pound towing capacity, and a 690-mile driving range!
What’s New for the 2025 Ram 1500?

The first and most noticeable upgrade is the front fascia, which features a larger and wider grille flanked by reshaped headlights. The grille also leans more forward, creating a more aggressive look. Previously optional, LED lighting comes standard across the entire Ram 1500 lineup in 2025. Inside, you’ll notice a 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen is now standard equipment, while an all-new 14.5-inch touchscreen is optional, while standard on the all-new Tungsten trim. While the Ram 1500 has claimed the title of the most luxurious Ram 1500 model, the Tungsten takes that crown in the 2025 model year. The 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten blends advanced technology with ultra-premium comfort features to effectively create a mobile executive office. On the outside, the Tungsten gains an exclusive grille design, Rambox external storage, premium LED lighting, striking 22-inch alloy wheels, and a power remote tailgate. The most luxury, however, can be found inside the Ram 1500 Tungsten. It begins with the seats, which are wrapped in Natura Plus leather upholstery with a quilted pattern and feature heating, ventilation, lumbar massagers, and 24-way power adjustments. The Tungsten’s interior is also upgraded with two wireless charging pads in the front center console, a largest-in-class 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, a metal pedal kit, an Indigo/Sea Salt color scheme, a suede headliner, and dual-textured patina/semi-bright metal accents throughout. Finally, the Tungsten trim features an exclusive Klipsch Reference Premier sound system with 23 speakers, including a 12-inch subwoofer and two one-inch dome tweeters.
